Agreement with LLC “Arvis Zelal Textile” and LLC “Tajikistan Uzbekistan Investment Company”

In Tashkent, on June 02, 2022, within the framework of the program for expanding interstate trade and economic relations, economic partnership, creating joint high-tech industries, establishing and stimulating cooperation ties, an Uzbek-Tajik business forum was held, which brought together more than 200 representatives of official and business circles of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

The importance, necessity and importance of the business forum for the two countries is confirmed by the fact that it was held on the eve of the official meeting of the heads of two states: the Founder of Peace and National Unity, the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, esteemed Emomali Rahmon and the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, esteemed Mirziyoev Shavkat Miramonovich.

During this visit, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, esteemed Emomali Rahmon, was accompanied by the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Davlatali Said, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Energy and Water Resources, Economic Development and Trade, Education and Science, Finance, Agriculture and Culture, Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan , as well as the delegation was attended by the Chairman of the State Committee on Investments and State Property Management of the Republic of Tajikistan Kodirzoda Sadi Sangimurod.

The forum was opened by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Umurzakov Sardor Uktamovich and First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Davlatali Said. During the meetings, the parties confirmed:

– the commitment of the two countries to further development, deepening and raising to a new and higher level of strategic partnership between countries,

– intentions to expand economic cooperation between the two states by intensifying investment activities aimed at creating favorable conditions for the stable development of economic relations between the two countries,

– the desire to stimulate the development of direct ties between the business circles of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan and the promotion of joint projects for cooperation in the areas of trade, energy, industry, agriculture, transport and logistics.

 

As a result of the meeting, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Mirziyaev Shavkat Miramonovich signed the “Declaration on strengthening eternal friendship and unity between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.”

In this paradigm of relations between the two states, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan initiated the process of developing new forms of economic cooperation on mutually beneficial terms and laying a solid “foundation” for using the existing potential of both countries in order to expand economic partnership, enhance mutual trade and create joint high-tech and meeting modern requirements. industries, and also called on representatives of the business communities of both countries to actively cooperate and cooperate in order to develop and develop the most promising markets in the light industry, pharmaceuticals, electrical engineering, energy, industry, agriculture and the production of demanded products, including in the areas of transport and logistics and interregional cooperation with the creation of all the necessary infrastructure for this.

At the business forum, it was especially emphasized that the governments of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan will provide the necessary assistance and support in the implementation of joint projects.

In this context, the heads of the delegations of the two states highlighted the possibilities of the Joint Tajik-Uzbek Investment Company, as a modern and highly effective tool for supporting private sector projects in the Republic of Tajikistan, which was created with the participation of the relevant economic structures of both countries in order to use the investment opportunities of Uzbekistan in priority areas of the economy Tajikistan and the access of the business community of Tajikistan to the relevant financial resources on favorable and favorable terms.

 

One of the first and important results of the Uzbek-Tajik business forum for the Joint Tajik-Uzbek Investment Company was the signing of the Agreement on financing the project “Organization of a joint venture for the production of textile products” with Arvis Zelal Textile LLC, which took place in a solemn atmosphere in the presence of the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Umurzakov Sardor Uktamovich and First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Davlatali Said.

In accordance with this signed Agreement, its parties agreed to implement a project to organize a complex for the production of textile products with a total value of more than 50 million US dollars, both at the expense of the own funds of Arvis Zelal Textile LLC, and by investing financial resources of the Joint Tajikistan Uzbekistan Investment Company.

The parties to this Agreement noted that Arvis Zelal Textile LLC, in order to expand the existing production of cotton yarn, intends to organize and launch the industrial production of knitted and other types of textile products, a significant part of which is planned to be financed at the expense of investment funds of the Joint Tajik-Uzbek Investment Company .

The textile industry of Tajikistan has a long history, its development and prosperity is closely connected with this fertile region. Early studies showed that for the production of cotton, linen, woolen, silk fabrics, lace, knitwear, etc., etc. Tajikistan has the necessary foundation and resources: the availability and accessibility of domestic raw materials that do not depend on the import of raw materials from outside the country, as well as the availability of a labor market and a wide range of opportunities to provide the population with finished products.

Economic partnership, the creation of joint high-tech industries, the establishment and promotion of cooperative ties, to which the Uzbek-Tajik business forum was directed, will help the revival and further development of the textile industry in the Republic of Tajikistan.

The increase in industrial production, in particular textile production, is an important factor in the economic growth of Tajikistan according to the developed “Strategy for the development of industry in the Republic of Tajikistan for the period up to 2030”.
